Introduction

Hey, it’s Khánh/Kevin here,

Most UI/UX designers started their career from a visual-based job, but in my case, I started mine from “designing” words instead. Would it makes me a less competence designer? That's the easy assumption. Hence, I asked myself that question right when I jumped to design career and it makes me aware of both important things: which transferable skills I already gained from my past career, and which skills I need to improve as a UI/UX designer. I might not a designer for visual-heavy role, but I certain more competence with the other roles which needs those softer skills. Plus (a big one), I’ve worked on large-scale projects with major clients (such as Coca-Cola, Sony, and Tetra Pak), collaborating closely with English-speaking stakeholders during my advertising years—so I’m comfortable navigating complexity, aligning diverse perspectives, and turning complexity into clear, actionable decisions.

After learning UI + UX disciplines at Nordic Coder school and self-practicing, I find my passion in creating interfaces with industry-standard spacing, layouts, color harmony and optimized user experience. In a nutshell, I am a UI/UX designer with 3+ years of experience a considerable Marketing & Advertising background. Although my past strength lies on copywriting & content writing, I have developed my strong sense of visual after all those years of working with social media contents that heavily depends on visual ideas & the cooperation with designers. Also, as an INFJ, I’d love to collaborate with other designers when needed since collaboration usually makes the best works!

More Than a Designer

Outside of work, I'm an avid pickleball player — a sport I've been playing consistently for over a year and genuinely can't get enough of. It keeps me sharp, competitive, and always looking for the smarter move. Even though I am not a professional, I can teach most of the shots of this sport for people who’s relatively new to the game!

Off the court, mental health and wellness is something I care about deeply — enough to actively contribute to a mental health community on Facebook, where real conversations happen and people support each other. This has shaped a high level of emotional intelligence that I bring into my work every day: listening carefully, understanding people's frustrations, and designing experiences that feel genuinely human — not just functional.
